A financial advisor for more than 40 years, Dan has significant experience advising high net worth individuals, family offices, and privately held businesses on their tax, estate, investment, philanthropic, risk and capital needs. He works closely with clients on structuring mergers and acquisitions, as well as financial modeling and budgeting. Dan advises investors and wealthy families on tax minimization, wealth preservation, and family office strategies. His corporate clients have crossed various sectors, including consumer and industrial products, energy, and real estate.

Dan frequently lectures on tax legislative and planning topics to CPA societies, bar associations, trade and industry groups, and colleges and universities. He is published and quoted widely in the media and has authored a dozen articles in 2021. Dan serves on three academic advisory boards and several not-for-profit boards and committees. He is currently on the board of the American Academy of Attorneys-CPAs, serving as Illinois Chapter President, and is a past Chairman of the Illinois CPA Society.

Dan was with KPMG for 27 years and held numerous leadership roles, including Chicago Office Tax Managing Partner for ten years. Over his career, Dan served as the Lead Partner on many of KPMG’s highest-profile multinational accounts and family offices. More recently, Dan was a tax partner at BDO, where he was a leader in the firm’s national Opportunity Zone Practice. Dan has also practiced law in Chicago specializing in tax and estate planning and began his career in audit with Ernst & Young.

Dan has a J.D. and LL.M. (Taxation) from DePaul University College of Law, and his B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame (2008 Accounting Alumni of the Year). He is licensed to practice before the US Tax Court.
